Bio
Attended Cal State Hayward and was taught Lithography by Kenji Nanao. In 1980, he graduated and bought a lithographic press from Griffin Co. of Oakland.
Process
In Lithography, the image is drawn on limestone with each color applied separately. A series of processes and materials allows the ink to be accepted only to the drawn areas. The stone is kept wet while oil base ink is hand-rolled across the surface. The paper is aligned to the inked stone with registration marks insuring that the multiple runs will be in alignment for the completed print. It is then hand-cranked through the press.
